Its a shame that i havent had a chance to share my side of the story before being attacked. My name and address were posted. And remarks made about my family who you know nothing about. You've got to love (hate) the ease with which hatred can be spread with just a few strokes of a keyboard. I was not flipping off the cop but rather the person behind me. Not that that makes my gesture any better. It was am rush hour, I tried merging over, but the driver of the van made it difficult. And because a cop was passing by, the poster of the photo decided to embellish the story to draw attention to it. Ironically i am meeting with the PA State Police in the morning to pursue criminal action for the posts that threaten me and disparage my name and my family. Additionally, I will be pursuing a civil lawsuit against the individuals who went so far as to threaten my livelihood. I just wish people would consider whether or not they have all of the facts before judging others.

You are alleging that you were cut off by a van traveling on the opposite side of the highway that did you this disservice while both of your vehicles were on opposing sides of an obvious barrier in the center of both lanes. However, your photographer states that you in fact were the one who cut him off, which was seemingly for the purpose of your distasteful hand gesture to the last patrol vehicle in the procession at that time. Now you are threatening to sue people who are returning the same unkindness that you so genuinely offered a peace officer proceeding to a brother's funeral to grieve with him for the last final moments above the ground of this Earth, a place where we are meant to exist together. I would find myself much more accepting of your statements if you would accept that your actions were captured and not tolerated by people who respect police officers, such as my other half for instance. Now, here you stand, vulnerable, scared, fearful, angry and hurt, which makes me satisfied to some extent that you are now somewhat familiar of some of the emotions that officers encounter every day on the job, only to be disrespected by people such as yourself. Their families are threatened, sometimes their information is divulged and they are afraid to go home to find that someone has declared war upon their household due to an action that was required because of their job. Showing such a lack of disrespect for a fallen officer who put his life on the line for others,he was a HERO in my eyes as do all the other police officers as well as fireman, EMT's & Paramedics. RIP Officer Bashioum
