PLEASE - motorcycle driver - please do not jerk your motorcycle for a lane change in backed up after-work traffic. I almost ran you over. Lane changes should be predictable, using signals, slowly, and gently. ESPECIALLY if you're on a motorcycle. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!
Last week this guy stood his giant GMC truck on top of the bike lane, essentially blocking the car and bike lane at the same time bc he's an uber driver & that's how he thought he should pull over so his passenger could get in. I had to ride into oncoming traffic, so I yelled "Bike lane!" at him as I passed. Then 100 ft later we're at a red light. He's in the left turn lane, another car is in the right turn lane/bike lane & I'm going straight, so I'm in the straight car lane-which is exactly what I am supposed to do according to the Chicago bikers manual, which I follow to a T bc I want to live. This sociopath pulls up to me & starts harassing me with a sick rapey grin on his face. Bc his bad driving could get someone killed, so I said something. Street harassment is the number one reason woman don't ride their bikes to work, so this guy is being reported for bad driving & attempting (and failing) to silence and intimidate a woman bc she told him no & no one tells him no? Is that it? You wouldn't last one day out here on a bike, bro! You're only tough when you're hiding behind your ridiculously oversized SUV that doesn't belong in a city!
I almost got into an accident when I was forced into traffic because this person broke through a barrier (pole is lying on the ground in photo) to park (and leave!) their car in the green bike lane... next to a fire hydrant...during rush hour. News flash! Riding in traffic is dangerous, that's why they gave us a dedicated Well marked bike lane with barriers and traffic signals downtown. Why do ppl think it's ok to selfishly take away a safe zone for their convenience? Selfish, selfish, selfish and classist!
Almost dashed into him he cut me off just barley swerved out the way
